You may face this issue if drivers are not updated. However, before we proceed I would require some more information to assist you better.

3. Is this device working on a different computer?

In the meantime, I would suggest you to try the following methods:
Method 1:
Try to disconnect other USB devices from the computer and check if it helps.

If the issue still persists, then try method 2.
Method 2:
Uninstall and reinstall the mp3 player driver from the manufacturer website. https://dreamsupernal654.weebly.com/blog/lexmark-e120n-windows-7-driver-download.
Follow the steps given below to reinstall the mp3 player driver from the manufacturer website:

1. Uninstall the mp3 player related drivers from the Control Panel/ Program list.
2. Go to Device Manager with the mp3 player attached. You should see the device with a yellow triangle warning of an issue. Right click and Uninstall.
3. Now remove the USB cable, switch OFF the mp3 player and plug in to a different USB port.
4. This should load drivers again (give it some time!). Make sure the mp3 player is unlocked when you try and access it (first time).
You may also try to update the latest mp3 player driver from the Sony website.
